MORAVIANS ARE KNOWN FOR THEIR UNITY AROUND THE WORLD. But honestly, there may be questions that we must answer. One big one- Is Unity without righteousness good, when God’s Word is not followed? I say, “Unity without righteousness is idolatry!” Certainly whatever drives our thoughts and actions, becomes an idol, and these idols dull our spiritual hearing and harden our hearts to things of God.
Our Moravian Text read for today is from Matthew 4:12-23. Christ’s mission is for everyone to repent. In verse 12, Christ says, “Repent, for te Kingdom of God is at hand”. Today the Holy Spirit is saying to repent. Sadly too many religious people today are building their kingdoms through manipulation, twisting scripture to justify sin, and even allowing culture and entertainment to get in the way.
And also sadly too many churches are splitting, families dividing and friendships even suffering because of the tension between biblical truth versus cultural accommodation. Bible truth is our foundation.
It is my prayer that 2026 is a time of restoration for our Churches and family members. Honestly though the signs are everywhere. This New Year may be a time of judgment first coming on the household of God! Certainly, we all should be praying that God will not vomit us out of His mouth because of our lukewarmness.
May the truth of God’s Word be our foundation. We must understand that our faith is not based on subjective feelings or personal preferences, but on the solid foundation of Christ’s teachings. Beliefs that diverge from this truth can lead us astray, pulling us away from the genuine relationship we are called to have with God.
We remember that Jesus came to rescue us and guide us toward real life, making it clear that any other path is misleading. By rooting ourselves in His truth, we can discern false teachings and navigate through the confusion that surrounds us.And may we never compromise His Holy Word and not to fall asleep. The timeline of Jesus Christ’s return is so soon; the signs are clustering together like birth pangs getting closer and closer.
Evangelism is critical today. May God help the Anchorage Moravian Church and its memberships and supporters, everyone do more to win the lost.
