UIMM Outreach Support in Africa and Honduras December 2020 – January 2021

United International Moravian Ministry group (UIMM) has been busy raising dollars to support church planting throughout the world.  Shown is a glimpse into UIMM’s prayerful and financial support in Africa and Honduras from December 2020 – January 2021.

Bishop Emmaus Mwamakula (shown left in photo) of Tanzania is busy showing that the gospel of Jesus Christ should help to strengthen Tanzania’s government and freedoms for its peoples. Lately Bishop Mwamakula has been encouraging Tanzanians about the importance of creating the Independent Electoral Commission and writing a new constitution!  For Tanzania UIMM has provided medical and transportation and conference dollars for outreaches.

On January 10, 2021 Bishop Odongo shared that Vernacular (Luo) Bibles are very urgently needed.  He stated that his visit to Dagodwong Moravian Revival Church, a branch church of Pader Town MRCU, located about 7 km from his home identified real and urgent need for Luo Bibles for the new converts.  Similarly the outreach to Aringolela MRCU in Okwang S/C, Otuke District has the same problem.  Yesterday, Bishop Odongo said “Kindly pray for need of about 30 copies to aid discipleship and growth of their faith”.

Shown at right is a big Radio ministry with Pastor Okot Denis in Uganda, Africa, which we prayerfully support.  Bishop Odongo of Uganda is a professional radio station manager who is successfully planting churches throughout Uganda.  Since December 1, 2020, UIMM has provided dollars for 10 new bicycles for 10 new pastors, food for pastors and their family members, building materials, and dollars for bibles and chairs to mention a few.  The need is great for more bibles and chairs and building material for the explosion of church growth for Moravian Revival Churches in Uganda.

In Honduras, the Moravian Revival Church under Bishop-elect Rev. Isai Granwell has been growing with the addition of a new Moravian church headed up by Pastor La Mec in La Ceiba, Honduras.  UIMM has and is providing finish up construction dollars for the new Church.  The UIMM “Lion” logo (photo at left), was painted and erected January 10, 2021.  Also shown (below right) is Pastor La Mec’s new church with chairs.

The position of UIMM is that Count Nicholas von Zinzendorf, the father of the renewed Moravian Church in Herrnhut, Germany in 1727 would be happy to see the growth of Revival Moravian Churches today!  Zinzendorf would be excited to note that the Moravian Revival Churches under the World Fellowship of Moravian Revival Churches (WFMRC) are indeed “Living Churches living out the full counsel of God’s Word”!  We are clear in our understanding that UIMM and the WFMRC are not dividing the Moravian Churches in any country for that matter.  Instead it is growing the Church of Jesus Christ.

Originally Zinzendorf rejected denominationalism and the spirit of religion.  So too, today UIMM’s position is since the spirit of religion excluded us and divided us at the Worldwide Moravian Unity meeting in Jamaica in 2016 and since the spirit of religion has corrupted the end day Moravian Church, we have no other recourse but to remain free.  As a free Moravian Church, we will continue to do our part to strengthen the Church.

Traditional Moravians, please note!  We never speak distastefully of our roots nor any traditional Moravian Church for that matter, although there are Moravian leaders who are proactively speaking out against us.  True proper spiritual Moravians would never do this!  We will continue to remain as Moravian heritage Christians, do our part to grow the family of God in Christ, and continue to build the Kingdom of God throughout the world.

Finally it must be said!  UIMM invites other Moravian Church leaders throughout the world that are “feeling excluded” to join our Moravian heritage family.  UIMM will promise to do one thing.  We will prayerfully support you and encourage you!  Finances?  Well so far we are not a rich church.

Thankfully a businessman from another church denomination came into our UIMM office in Anchorage, Alaska in December 2020.  Just before Christmas he donated $4600 to keep UIMM’s mission outreach going.

For Moravians that need help throughout the world, if needed, we will be happy to dialogue with you based upon your need.  We will provide covering for any Moravian heritage Church, in any country, that needs a spiritual covering.
