DON’T GO TO CHURCH? I was thinking about recommending to the AncMC Elders and UIMM Board about maybe shutting down our online broadcasts. These broadcasts can be done on another day of the week. REASON PEOPLE ARE USING IT AS AN EXCUSE NOT TO GO TO CHURCH!
The bible says “NOT TO FORSAKE THE ASSEMBLY”. Also, I know that where ever Paul the Apostle and Barnabas travelled on their missionary journeys, they started churches and established leadership in every community where believers gathered together in Unity. In Acts 14:23 in other translations says, 23 Paul and Barnabas also appointed elders in every church. With prayer and fasting, they turned the elders over to the care of the Lord, in whom they had put their trust. 23 Paul and Barnabas handpicked leaders in each church.
If leaders are necessary, the leaders must have people that join them for worship, training, and outreaches. I believe that it is not proper protocal to have regular churches without proper elders; spiritual leaders in charge and not just one leader. There are cases where on leader can be used to start a spiritual fellowship for a time, but leaders should come of a fellowship that grows.
If one does not go to church, I believe it is a form of selfish pride that they think they know it all and don’t need other believers. Also, it is a form of robbery hurting other believers in the Kingdom of God, when the spiritual gifts are not used to help others.
Finally, one last word – Find a Church that will work together with you to spread God’s love and the gospel across the globe and to bring light to a world in moral darkness. The Church helps us to maintain organization, teachings, and to create a support system for members. By establishing a church, the Lord ensures that the correct doctrines are taught. I believe this is Paul’s theology of the corporate body of Christ, working together and serving together.
