The local churches, such as the Anchorage Moravian Church under United International Ministry, are not just fellowships or groups that worship together to have a good time. We are not a social club. More so than that I believe that we should remain organized as a biblical Church in order to fulfill our Lord’s Command to Go to the World to fulfill the Great Commission.
Biblical Churches are effective. The New Testament had organized Churches with leadership such as at Corinth, Ephesus, and Galatia. The Church at Jerusalem was very effective.
No one should put down a church because it is organized and has a worship informational bulletin. The early Christian Church was organized and developed into powerful influencers within their sphere of influence to win lost souls and disciple them.
Apart from the foundational offices of apostles and prophets, the early churches had qualified leaders, elders and deacons, who served the church under the lordship of Christ, guided by both the Scriptures and the Spirit.
UIMM is not a traditional Moravian Church! We are a renewed Moravian Church group operating since 2012 to bring life to dead churches and lukewarm Churches. No matter what people say, we have been a relatively new developing “spiritual movement” that has been tremendously effective to reach the world for Christ, with extremely limited resources.
As one bishop under the World Fellowship of Moravian Revival Churches (which I serve as co-Chair, along with Bishop Emmaus Mwamakula in Tanzania) in 8 nations and as President/Administrator of UIMM, I encourage local fellowships and worship groups to become more effective in filling the skies with lost souls redeemed by the blood of the lamb and be a living family living out the full counsel of God’s Word.
More effective? Yes! Local fellowships and groups can become more organized with pastors and leadership. So too, it also be more effective in developing young leaders with a worldwide vision of service. Casting a vision of service for them will bring more of them into leadership.
