3rd UIMM Pastor Tim Sergie Passes into Eternity

A well known man of God (in eight nations), The Rev. Tim Sergie, Pastor of The House of Prayer Church and United International Moravian Ministry (UIMM) Vice-President of the Boards (and director who assisted in creation of the World Fellowship of Moravian Revival Churches), passed and went to be with His Savior, Jesus Christ, yesterday, May 19, 2023 in Wasilla, Alaska. On behalf of the Directors of UIMM, our prayers for his wife, children and relatives are offered for strength and comfort during this time of great loss.
As we honor Pastor Tim Sergie, we know we are honoring God! As brother Gary Teaque said, “we already miss Tim”. We say, we will miss Brother Tim greatly!
The Lord brought Brother Tim Sergie to UIMM at the right time of history to help build Christ’s Kingdom of love in Alaska and among the nations. This is a man who wept and understood the hurting and did his part equip the saints to walk by faith, have humble and broken hearts that God can use.
Through the years, the challenges of leadership have a way of draining godly men of their physical, emotional and spiritual vitality. But knowing Brother Tim it was his faithful obedience in leading the lost to faith in Christ and in making disciples is the fuel that kept him to the end to keep on mission.
We are to honor men like Pastor Tim Sergie! As I said earlier, when we honor him we are honoring God. 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 tells us, “but we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you and give you instruction, and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another” (NASV).
This is our third UIMM pastor we have lost in the last two years. May we honor him as well as our living pastors.
Pray for your pastors. Support his or her church financially and generously. Defend your pastor against critics; never publically criticize him. Speak directly to him about the issue, or better forgive him and forget it and/or pray for him. Every pastor is imperfect and has some people whose expectations are not met by his ministry. Bless the pastor’s family with appreciation from time-to-time. Look at your pastor straight in the eye and verbally tell him you appreciate him and why.
A Celebration of Life Service for Pastor Timothy Sergie Jr. is scheduled for May 23, 2023, 1 pm, at Legacy Funeral Home, 1015 S Check Street, Wasilla, Alaska. Viewing begin at noon. Live streaming of worship service will be on the Legacy website.
Note:  UIMM Pastors Richard Mercer and Pete Stephan left us within the last two years or so.
