UIMM & AncMC Position on Upcoming 2024 Elections

Upcoming national elections will probably be the most critical one of our generation and will have impact upon our lives for a long time to come.

As Moravian Revival pastors preaching politics from the pulpit will be counter productive. The Anchorage Moravian Church nor United International Moravian Ministry as 501C3 “non-profit religious” organizations do not endorse candidates.

We recognize that there is much evil in our land and America needs healing. The Bible verse that mentions healing is 2 Chronicles 7:14, which states, “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Certainly since much evil is in our nation we must scrutinize our candidates, pray to vote for the one who will make righteous decision and help to heal our land. Certainly this is a time when we all must pray that the elections be done fairly and correctly and that we vote our conscience.

In regards to our Churches, I believe it is important for pastors to encourage their flock to make informed choices. The Bible does speak against evil and advances goodness. A key thought that many Christian believers have taken is to assure that who they vote for totally supports Israel as a nation. According to the Bible, God promises to bless those who bless Israel, and to curse those who curse Israel. Genesis 12:3 says, “I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you. In you all the families of the earth shall be blessed”. I personally believe that our nation has been blessed in the past for our stand on Christianity since its inception and support for Israel in recent years.

Another thought since there is so much divisiveness in the current national elections, it is important that we keep among ourselves respect for everyone no matter what party they support and maintain Unity. We should emphasize our spiritual identify more than our party affiliation. And continue to love one another even if we disagree. We must remember everyone is a child of God, whether they’re Republican or Democrat, conservative or liberal.

One last thought is to keep in mind that the enemy of our souls will create delusions to weaken our country. So it is indeed critical that will keep in mind good versus evil and remember that we should all vote for who appears to be the most righteous candidate advancing the kingdom of God.

Everyone who is of voting age should vote. Remember we should be praying for America that God’s judgment be averted and that our Country will experience a revival of morality and righteousness and keep the God of Abraham in view in all political maneuvering.

Certainly in our Alaskan indigenous steam houses we can enjoy “a hot one” and still have open dialogue and even disagreements and learn from one another. Someone has said and I agree that the Church’s mission transcends political affiliations. Ultimately, God calls followers to do His way, seek his kingdom and to share his love with others.
