BISHOP ISAI GRANDWELL VISITS ALASKA: AN EXCITING MEANINGFUL TIME!

A big word of gratitude goes out for Bishop Isai Granwell from La Ceiba, Honduras, who spent a week in Anchorage (September 16-23, 2026) among Alaska’s Moravian people. During his time there he met with the Directors of United International Moravian Ministry Group (UIMM) and Elders of the Anchorage Moravian Church (AncMC). During the leadership meetings, it became clearer as to the ongoing mission of UIMM in Alaska and the World in expanding God’s Kingdom. Bishop Isai continues as UIMM’s International Outreach Director to the Nations.

Noteworthy, Bishop Isai participated in two days of formal Pastor’s and Spiritual Leadership training on Evangelism and Discipleship with main instructor, Pastor Leon Kiana. This all-day training on September 18-19, 2026, held at the AncMC was well attended. Wonderful fellowship with food was provided during lunch. From discussion generated this special training opportunity appeared to be among the “greatest” of the training opportunities to strengthen the Church and individual believers in Christ. We are thankful for the giftedness of Pastor Leon Kiana for providing the needed training to help UIMM’s Churches to focus on Mission for Christ.

After Bishop William Nicholson’s traditional one hour Moravian service on September 20, 2026, Bishop Nicholson officiated in a special ordination service. Bishop Granwell participated in what is an historic event. In early afternoon, an ordination service was held for Pastor Pati Latwer with a large attendance of Samoan church members. Brother Latwer is originally from a Samoan Island in the south Pacific Ocean. He is now a Moravian minister. During the service it was announced that New Beginnings Samoan Church, Brother Pati’s Church now falls under UIMM, the second Samoan Church to join UIMM.

Six nights of three hour Moravian Revival Worship Services were held at the AncMC address located at 3512 Robin Street, Anchorage, Alaska on September 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22. Several UIMM Pastors helped with leading worship with Bishop Isai giving the Word of God, and praying for people, who had spiritual and physical needs. The messages from God’s Word dealt with spiritual teaching on God’s process in believer’s lives, Christian marriage and authority, the importance of the Holy Spirit as an active power for miracles and healing, rather than a religious theory or tradition. Important was Bishop Isai’s teaching on 2 Kings 4:1-7 dealing with Elisha and the Widows’s oil explaining on the loss of protection, the power of provision and miraculous multiplication.

The messages were felt as being needed and powerful. People of all ages were touched and a good many young people were touched for Christ.

Bishop Isai left Anchorage for Houston, Texas on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Currently by September 25, 2026 he should be home in Honduras. We continue to pray for him, his wife and family as they continue to do God’s Work.

A big future event planned is for special services in Honduas by UIMM Bishop William Nicholson (and World Fellowship of Moravian Revival Church Co-Chair) and UIMM Pastor Ferdinand Sharp is for October 2023. This trip is to ordain three more Moravian Honduras Pastors and to dedicate a new Catheral building for our Moravian Revival work in Honduas.

At least $2500 to $3000 more must be raised for the October Mission trip. If anyone wants to contribute for this cause, please use www.alaskamoravian.com or use the Moravian QR in our Moravian church bulletins or you may mail a check to United International Moravian Ministry, 3512 Robin Street, Anchorage, Alaska 99504.

God bless you.
